Oh ladies, ladies, ladies. How are you? I have a little issue, and I'm sure you can relate to what I'm going through. My master bedroom closet is so small that my clothes, shoes, and bags are stuffed in there like sausages. Now, I've added my honey's clothes.---it's a tragedy. I have to remodel this space, or I might grab a beer and jump out the exit door. Well, I won't go that crazy, but I have to fix it immediately.
These pictures don't tell the whole story, because when the door is open it blocks the left side, and you can't see the whole closet at once. You get the gist though. I've looked at many options including systems like California Closets, but there is no way I'm paying thousands of dollars for something I can do myself. So here we go, our first DIY project as a family (you, my honey, and me). I'll go through the steps of this project, and give you the tips you need to do the same.

I, too, struggle with this! No fear... first things first. Seperate your clothes into three categories... *KEEP*, *DONATE*, *TRASH*. I like to use bins to contain the mess, but it's up to you. Once you have an idea about what you have, then you can begin planning your space.
There are a lot of inexpensive ways to organize your closet! Target has a lot of cute options. Home Depot has ClosetMaid's Selectives closet system that is really nice, and you can configure it to your needs. One of my favorite ways to organize my purses is to use an over-the-door hook rack. You can find a cute one for under $15! Cute baskets can hold other accessories like scarves and camisoles.
I could go on for days... but always remember to start out with a clean slate! It's easier to visualize what you want to do when you don't have all of your stuff in the way!
I will be watching (and maybe participating) because my closet looks worse than yours, b/c mine isn't neat! I take shoes out the box, and leave the box out!! LOL I have three closets in my house all with my clothes!
I too need help with my closet!! I'm a terrible closet organizer. I will be watching very closely to see how you work this situation out.
