Product Review: Need an Alternative to Gel? Try the Miracle In a Jar

When I have a hair emergency, I always go to my miracle in a jar. No, not the relaxer. I'm au natural now, and I'm finally getting used to the versatility of my new doo. One of my biggest fears about going natural was being "rough around the edges." I'm an admitted gel addict, but gel doesn't lay my hair down these days. Now, I have a secret weapon called Edges.

It works like gel, and it actually gives you the look of a fresh relaxer when you put it around your hairline. It doesn't get hard or sticky, and I haven't experienced any dryness or breakage. This is a MUST have in my cabinet. The only downside is, when it dries, it doesn't have the same sheen as when first applied. I love it anyway. A little dab will do, be careful not to use too much. You can order it at www.hickstotaltransformations.com.

If you don't want to order online, Keracare has a similar product called Edge Tamer and Organic Root Stimulator has a new product called Edge Control. I would use either of these as a go to if I don't have Edges. I would love to know what you use on your hair.

What secret weapon do you have in your beauty cabinet?

Love
Hillerie Camille

This looks like a must try, but I'm one of those hate to order product folks.

Shea Moisture Organic Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner works wonders for me. I use it when my hair is wet as a leave in. Apply a little extra to the edges and top with a little jojoba oil if there's any visible residue after its dry.

On dry hair I use 100% shea butter. It works like a charm. I have to wear a scarf for about 30 min after application though.

Your skin is AMAZING... I don't think I would ever allow a camera that close to my face!

Does this product have a texture similar to Jam?

Readinghaspurpose, thanks for the compliment and the great tips for the edges.

Beauty2TheBone, these products are similar to Jam, but a little thicker. I They have more hold, and they aren't greasy at all.
